Character design for practice
After graduating with my bachelor's last year, I've been struggling with getting my momentum going. Even though I was glad to have finally reached my goal, I felt exhausted from all the years of work that I put into getting there. I didn't truly feel inspired to draw or make anything until almost a year later.
I did sketch out a few ideas, and I even made Emily a Valentine's Day present, in the interim. I just didn't get that feeling of being on fire with the desire to get to work on something creative again. Until recently, that is.
Lately, I've been obsessed with looking at lots of artwork: particularly cartoons, comics and other illustrative work. I feel that my inspiration is taking a new direction and it is quite possibly going to take the form of sequential art. There is nothing definite yet, as I am still gathering all the ingredients.
All I have to show for now is that I've been working on my skills towards character development. So here's a few examples of my exercises:
